Laura Fine
FOUNDER, A FINE WORLD
Laura Fine is a design and merchandising strategist with nearly two decades of experience building products where creativity meets commercial clarity. As the founder of A FINE WORLD, she partners with fashion and lifestyle brands to define product vision, streamline creative operations, and deliver consumer-led assortments with purpose and precision.
Laura began her career in a Toronto menswear factory, making patterns and connecting directly with customers in the attached store. That early blend of craftsmanship and connection shaped her approach to design, rooted in understanding people and creating products that serve them beautifully.
Her career has spanned Olympic outerwear, global fashion weeks, and collaborations with world-renowned designers. At Karbon, she mastered the complexities of performance outerwear. At Canada Goose, she launched the Special Projects department, where she specialized in customization and collaboration, outfitting athletes and expeditions, and building the strategy for high-profile partnerships with houses such as Oscar de la Renta, Junya Watanabe, Vetements, and Levi’s. Her work has appeared on runways in Paris and New York and has been worn by cultural icons including Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Missy Elliott, and Drake.
Most recently, Laura served as Associate Vice President of Design & Technical Development at Canadian Tire, where she led soft goods and footwear design across multiple brand portfolios. Her leadership transformed Consumer Brands into a creative and technical centre of excellence, pioneering the integration of 3D design and elevating Canadian innovation in product development.
She believes the most meaningful design happens when creativity is used to solve real problems with clarity and purpose.
